Brains, Part 2

when i first made this blog i really wanted to talk about things that can make people think a lot. though i ended up with writing more rants than intelligible posts in the beginning, i would like to think i am improving. one of the first few posts would be about brains. a simple and short rant that was written by the simple minded and child-like me. this is an sequel to the post after a few years of thinking.

any average person would be born with a particular organ called a brain. the average brain is capable of thinking. the capability of thinking is that of which allows us to be different from one another.

the first thing i would like to mention is this: how is it that although the average person has a brain, that person is still capable of blindly believing something without a scientific basis? santa claus? the boogie man? why is it that children do not even question the existence of something as ridiculous as the tooth fairy?

the average adult would realise the silliness of how children can believe such a thing but let them be simply because they are children. while i can live with that, how is it that adults also find no problem believing in something that is baseless? is drinking liquor suppose to keep you warm? a chameleon changes colour to match its surroundings?

come on people, we are born with brains to think. so please, start thinking.

the second thing i would like to address is: must everybody agree with everything you say? so you think a particular movie sucks, that is your opinion. i have the freedom to watch whatever i want be it sucky by your standards or not.

when you have an opinion, it is your opinion, it is not a fact. if you were to explain to me about the various wavelengths of light for each colour, i could understand. this is something that has a scientific basis. it is facts, not something subjective. but if you are to tell me a certain genre of music is horrible and that i should never listen to it, then i strongly disagree. that is your opinion, not a fact. trying to convince me like it is a fact is similar to propaganda.

why is it so common for people to mix opinions and fact? is it really that hard to think for a moment whether or not others may have a different opinion? this does not even require you to think so much. it is pure logic. different people would have different opinions about things. the world does not revolve around you.

again people, please start using that brain of yours.

the third and final installment of this post is: statistics. ok, so some statistics make sense, like how much power you use to how much your electricity bills will be by the end of the month. this is a very direct thing that hardly requires statistics to know what the graph would look like.

however, when many variables are taken into place, how can you simply pick what you like and create a statistic out of it? to believe that random things are interrelated and make a statistic out of it without consideration of other variables is utter stupidity.

the best example that is common is global warming versus pirates. as the temperature of the planet goes up, pirates are decreasing. are we suppose to have more pirates then people? i might as well say the longer my hair grows, the warmer the planet gets. so everyone should shave their heads. please people, when you want to make a statistical statement, at least get your fact straight and make sure what you are comparing actually makes sense.

of course there are also statistics like saying the average person swallows 8 spiders per year in their sleep but i already talked about this in my first point.

so for the last time people, please think a little more in life.

Fever

you wanna know the most annoying thing in human history that bugs me to the bone? getting a friggin fever. i curse whoever that invented fever to get run over by cancer.

i mean seriously now, when i had my day fully planned and actually excited to go to class, my entire body has to feel two temperatures at the same time. and if that wasn't enough, it gives me aches with every movement i try to make. this is not a feeling i have come to miss.

so what can a guy do in a situation like his eh? pop 2 panadols in and wear a jacket of course. but as if that wasn't good enough, the friggin fever has to grow a mind of its own and crash my entire body system. i mean, what the hell man? one minute i was sitting on my bed, next minute i friggin wake up late afternoon with my body Still aching all over the place.

ok, maybe my body just hates me. i don't blame it. i have been abusing it non-stop since i have it. and its not like i'm eating any healthier since i came here. its only normal if the body dislikes the brain, right?

so here's my specially formulated solution that will cure my body of all diseases, lose the body! if the brain has no body, it can't fall sick right? all i gotta do now is wait for technology to catch up with my idea then i can finally live a disease free life as only a brain.

Random Bits of Shyte

hello everybody. i'm alive. i know, its very surprising. the fact that my work hasn't already annoyed me to death is amazing. anyways...

my results for SPM are considered average. but here's the thing, i only studied about 2 months before the exam. all the other times since form 4 to form 5, i was mostly half listening.

so put it this way, if i could study only 2 months and got average results, what do you think you will get if you start studying NOW? i'm not promoting the fact that little studies can give average results. but i suffered a lot in those 2 months. in fact, there were many days that i didn't sleep because i was studying for the exam on the next day.

of course studying technique actually needs to be considered although i don't use them myself. but, SQ3R IS a very effective. yes i know you still hate PDL but this is something that you should force yourself to do.

technique combined with consistency and you WILL get good results even if you start studying NOW!

[blah blah blah... i dunwanna hear this...]

yes i know you don't. so lets move on.

things that happened in my life include:

-my father got me a 4GB thumbdrive. so in lurve with it now.

-i am so distant with the computer that i feel like i lost a limb

-itachi is dead. damn that idiot.

-erm.. that's it.

-------------------

life has been a bit uneventful for me lately. very robotic lifestyle.

-------------------

but just to annoy you Amanda, i'm here to say that life revolves around additional mathematics. yes, it does. from something as complex as a surgery and building building, to a simple task as writing. (yes writing requires add-maths but we don't see it because we already learn to use it comfortably without actually thinking.)

in fact, walking requires add-maths. open your eyes and look around. our brains are so powerful that it has already done all the maths for us without having to learn it.

but our brain are only capable of doing so in terms of trial and error. in other words, no Amanda, you can't expect to pass without exercise

-------------------

due to my lack of brain activity in my work, i got bored and decided to memorize pi. yes, the pi to calculate circle related stuff. not to eat.

yes, it is the 3.1415......

in 4 days, i memorized 100 decimal places of pi. then i memorized up to 120 decimal places and i kind of lost the will to continue memorizing.

anyways, this is how much i can pull from my head now:

3.14159 26535 89793 23846 26433 83279 50288 41971 69399 37510 58209 74944 59230 78164 06286 20899 86280 34825 34211 70679 82148 08651 32823 06647

haha...

you see? you can learn to excal in things you don't like as long as you put your mind into it Amanda. stop trying to reject add-maths.

my seniors said i was too bored because i memorized useless things.

speaking about work, i will stopping work on the 29th of april so that i can catch the movie [Iron Man] on the 30th. oh yeah!!

********************

before i go, feel free to ask for any tutorials which you would like me to post. then at least i can feel like i have accomplished something in my life instead of rotting here at home doing nothing productive.

********************

p.s. i'm going to start my mini tesla coil project soon. probably after work ends.

Suicide

due to the recent departure of my grandmother from this world, i will post something about life and death that i have been long putting off.

first, consider a car ride to a destination. you get in the car, the car starts moving, then when you finally reach your destination, you stop.

consider the starting of life to be the starting of a journey. and consider death to be the ending of that journey. life, can be seen as only one thing: a journey.

the beginning and the end of life is something equally amazing and horrifying. we live knowing we will die. however, it is what we do during our life that truly matters. similar to driving, we must always make sure we drive carefully.

we live our life like driving a car. we try to make sure we follow the rules (and break some on purpose sometimes) and abide by the law. but although we try so hard, there will always be times when we are challenged to break the law, be it big (killing?) or small (littering?).

like a journey by car, life also has its bumps and times of uncomfort. there will also be times when one wishes time flows faster. and finally, times when you need to refuel.

life as one knows it, is precious and we should guard it well. because the only way life is dissimilar from a car ride is that if life stops, it cannot be started again. when one dies, there is no longer a second chance to live. the window of time that allows a dying person to save him/herself is often small and therefore, one can easily conclude that life is fragile and worth guarding.

why is it then, that there are people who wish to commit suicide? why is it that these people do not appreciate their lives?

when we look out the window of the car of our life's journey, we sometimes see beautiful things. and sometimes, ugly things. when people see too much of ugly things for too long, they crash their car to end their lives prematurely. in real life, one would never crash a car due to horrible sightings but in metaphor, why would any person be so willing to crash their cars (end their lives)?

a human being's brain is hard wired to live. that is why you can't hypnotize yourself to die. but the brain, being powerful as it is, is capable of making you die by pure will. if all you think about is death, eventually, the body begins to break down. immunity level drops. causing the body to be in high risk of illnesses. eventually killing the body.

if all you think about is suicide, eventually, the brain finds ways to do so. but why would a person be even edged to thinking about suicide when everyone knows that there is no 'undo' button for death?

suicide = a fatal escape

when one Wants suicide, one Wants an escape. a means to run away from a problem that seems to hard to resolve. suicide, in their minds, is the only way out.

this post is not intended to make you want or not want to commit suicide. rather, it is supposed to make you realize that suicide is not an answer.

we know if we live, there is a chance to solve a problem. we know if we live, there is more experience to be gained, more joy to be met, more happiness we can aquire. if we die, we know nothing. we know not of where we go after we die. death is just a picture we can't paint.

life is a journey. a journey that will eventually lead many to happiness, and lead some to sadness. if we end that journey, we can no longer move forward to make our lives better. whether you lead a life of joy or grief, as long as you Live, you can do something about it.

Brains, are we using it?

some say we use only about 10% of our brain. but here's a simple question to help you confirm that understanding. if you only use 10% of your brain, then if i scoop the rest of the 90% of your brain out, you won't die? that being said, we use 100% of our brains.

the brain is an amazing thing. calculating vast amounts of information each second to allow us to touch, feel, balance, think, smell, imagine, see, and even read at the same time! this merely proves that our brains are very well made. however, it is amazing that there still people in the world that simply refuse to use their heads! and I'm not talking about retards. when a person sleeps, a lesser amount of processing occurs in our brains. but for the people who are lazy to use their heads, they simply just "sleep" all the time. by using the minimal amount of brains that a person potentially have, these people merely do whatever that is convenient. wake up, breakfast, bath, work, dinner, bath, shit, sleep, and so on.. they lack the will to know more and to discover new things. following a ready made cycle they simply just follow it without question. never questioning why nor attempt to break the cycle.

putting the first two paragraphs of meaningless words aside, it can be concluded that our brains are very powerful. needless to say, we should use more of it. (so this means paper and pen instead of a calculator)
