clones. some think of it as repeating life. but here is the question, if you were cloned, will you be living life again? if you surf the net to get the definition of clone, you will get answers that revolve around one concept, identical genes. genes are mere genetic structures that determine your physical looks and behaviour. however, genes do not contain any traces of memory. in other words, memories cannot be cloned.
so are we living life again if we are cloned? lets not forget that a clone refers to identical genes. although we are capable of making a clone, we must understand that it is no different than having an identical twin. if we make a clone of ourselves, we are merely making a twin of ourselves. the only same things is that it will have similar characteristics and physical properties. memories gained from a clone can be regarded as its own life, as a twin.
so if we ask ourselves whether or not we are living life again if we are cloned, i would say no. but, we are making another imprint of ourselves in the world. since the clone will grow to look exactly like ourselves, it can be said that we are literally leaving our mark on the earth.
